1.(RANT) Publix- First off I hate the food at the deli,always have,and their bakery. Unless it's changed, their chicken is too peppery and dry,they only have one side in the deli and that's dried and peppery mac N Cheese.Their brand of foods like crackers,cookies,etc taste like it's made with old oil or something,it never taste fresh. As for the bakery? Everything that I have had there was old tasting,the cookies are hard,ther bread is hard and their cake? Their cakes are always leftover tasting,like they made them 3 days ago. Also seems like the breads and cakes and even cookies are made with sour cream.Their meat is always black and $5.00 a lb.Publix use to have alot of baggers and cashiers to get you in and out of there.Now they have about 3 cashiers and 2 baggers with about 100 people in the store! Damn near everyone seems to be taking out their own groceries. As for the deli,where they make sandwiches,2 people working with everyone wanting a sandwich .
2.(RAVE) Harveys- I can go into Harvey's, go to their deli,with 2 people working and order a chicken meal ( I don't but I've seen it done)Speaking of, that's what I like about Harvey's deli. For $5.99 you can get any sort of meat you want ;meatloaf,chick,lasguana,shrimp,bbq chicken,baked chicken,fried chicken,fried fish,wingettes and then get 2 sides; potates,sweet potatoe skins, black eyed peas,lima beans,mac n cheese (creamy),greens,baked beans,and some more stuff. Plus you get a chose of breads; a dinenr roll or 2 types of cornbread: plain or jalapeño,and then my fave,cake. They have nice soft,moist,creamy but not too creamy vanilla cake.They use some glaze on it that never hardens,like krispy kremes glaze.Publix use to have cornbread a long long time ago,but was far too dry.Harvey's cornbread is like,corn muffin.Also you get a 32 oz. tea (sweetned or unsweetened),leomade,or fruit punch.Publix you pay $5.49 for one roll, 2 meat (wing and drumsticks,anything else cost more)One side,go fig and no cake or drink. You have to pay $1.69 for a 32 ox drink and $2.19-2.49 for a piece of cake . You spend at least $9.37 for day old,dry sour tasting food that you could get better for a lot less.Also their and Food Lion brand (same ppl owns both) is alot cheaper and better tasting than Publix brand. I LOVE their cheesy puff!
